North Indian hills are set to witness some rain & snowfall under influence of a weak WD

A weak WD (Western Disturbance) is expected to enter northwestern Himalayas tonight. 
Fresh spell of light to moderate snow and rain is likely to occur over parts of  Himalayas and few areas foothills. 

Weather Synopsis
•Weak Western Disturbance over W-N Himalayas (Moving East) (3/10)
•Induced cyclonic circulation over Punjab

Weather Effects
•Negligible effect is expected in northern plains. Some slight relief can be expected from polluted air. Winds to remain weak and moderate but not enough to drive the pollutants away. Formation of shallow fog to make the conditions worst. Dense fog is expected in few pockets. Pollutants to be lifted away from the surface due to moderate winds
-Some light rainfall or clouding activity is expected in parts of NE Aravalli, extreme S Haryana, parts of N Punjab and foothills of Haryana, Punjab, Extreme N UttarPardesh. 
-Dry and cold weather is expected to prevail in Delhi, Ncr, Ghaziabad, UttarPradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, Kolkata and adj areas
-Cold Winds from Snow laden hills of Jammu, Kashmir, Himachal to rush down into plains, dropping both Min and Max temps. Drop of 2-4°C is expected in Pumjab, Haryana, Delhi, Ncr, W UttarPradesh. Drop of 1-2°C is expected in Uttarakhand, N MadhyaPradesh, Bihar, West Bengal

Hills
•Fresh spell of light to moderate snow is expected in middle and higher reaches of Jammu, Kashmir, HimachalPradesh, Extreme reaches of Uttarakhand, Leh and light to mod rain is expected in 0-25% areas of lower reach and the urban areas of the hills. 0-10% areas of foothills to receive some rains between late 30th Oct into 1st Nov

•This is going to be 9th WD of this post monsoon season and is graded 3/10 on the intensity scale and the system is expected to affect north India for 3 days (30th Oct into 1st Nov)
•In a quick succession a series of WDs are expected to affect north India. WD 10 seems to be in weak in intensity and it’ll enter W Himalayas around late 2nd Nov into 4th Nov. One more wd by late 5-7th Nov

The month of spring is beginning on a stormy note for Northern India

  The weather has been very dry lately after a nearly winter drought due to the absence of winter rains in the region. There were weaker & less frequent active Western Disturbances which brought some rains but some of them traversed in lower latitudes as compared to their normal track. These lower latitude systems brought active spells over West, Central, and parts of Eastern India while sparing Northern India. The winter produce in the region has not been good! Now, the pattern is expected to get wet and stormy due to the active impulse of NAO coupled with favorable dynamics for the first half of the month of March. After passage of last WD, temperature are likely to fall in North India from late night of 26th Jan as flow of cold NorthWesterlies would resume across northwest India.
